The species come in all colors, from the most delicate to the most flamboyant, and they can even brighten up gardens with stones and rocks. You just have to choose the right ones, also depending on the type of space you have and the climatic zone in which you live.

Armeria maritima is a perennial with beautiful tubular white to pink flowers. The Armeria looks like a clump of grass and blooms in spring. It is best to expose it to direct sunlight and clean it from dead flowers.
This plant grows in cold as well as warm regions and is perfect for decorating a rock garden, although it is not easy to water.
Arabis caucasica

Arabis caucasica is a perennial plant with fragrant white flowers and small silvery leaves. A light down covers the whole plant and it is for this reason that it is called the “hairy plant of the Alps”.

Saxifrages are evergreen herbaceous plants that multiply by seed in autumn or by transplanting rooted shoots in winter. In a rockery, they are really magnificent.
Apennine Gentian

The Apennine gentian is an annual, biennial and perennial herbaceous plant. It has about 400 species that mainly grow in temperate zones. In Italy, it is found in the Alps and the Apennines, where it is considered a protected species.
Its flowers are bell-shaped, dark blue or purple, but often also white, yellow or red. This plant is widely used to decorate rock gardens.
