Located on the heights of Lake Annecy, this swimming pool benefits from an exceptional environment. The old pool, as well as the aging terrace, have been skilfully transformed thanks to an elegant renovation project. Details in pictures. Completely redesigned, the exterior of this beautiful property offers its occupants a privileged view of the lake and the mountains. An attractive postcard carefully highlighted. To be able to fully enjoy their garden, the owners have decided to renovate their aging terrace and swimming pool.

“The basin, small and old, lacked comfort and was little used” Saul Carvalho explains to us at Carré Bleu, who supervised the work on the swimming pool. With the help of an architect and a landscaper, the professional therefore transformed the premises into a place dedicated to relaxation and contemplation. The old basin was demolished and replaced by an infinity pool, and the terrace has been completely redesigned and embellished with a spa. Particular care has also been taken in the materials choice. “We favored materials that withstand the strong thermal amplitudes of the region, heat in summer, cold and snow in winter, so that they age as well as possible and last over time. It was also essential that the project fit into the picture. perfectly in its environment and does not distort the landscape “ underlines Saul Carvalho. Every detail has therefore been taken care of to create an elegant set, in perfect harmony with the house, and more broadly with nature. Visit in pictures.

The setting was attractive, but the garden deserved to be redesigned. The terrace already enjoyed an exceptional view of the lake, but it lacked comfort. “The pool was a bit abandoned” Saul Carvalho adds. “The pool was small and the owners used it little”. The old facilities were therefore demolished to allow professionals to reinvest in the outdoors.

The metamorphosis is spectacular. The small pool has given way to an elegant 4 x 8m infinity pool, framed by a carefully landscaped wooden terrace. A precise realization where nothing has been left to chance, starting with the choice of materials. These have in fact been selected to withstand climatic variations, which are significant from one season to another, and to integrate seamlessly into the landscape. “The terrace is made of ipe, a very resistant exotic wood” Saul Carvalho says. “We also used stone from the Alps in the staircase and at the level of the overflow. It is a slightly bluish local stone, which comes from Savoy and Italy. The landscaper then came to balance the together with plants so that the exterior is as harmonious as possible “.

So that the pool is as comfortable as possible, and its maintenance facilitated, the pool and its equipment are fully connected. A little more adapted to the lifestyle of the owners. “They live abroad and are only there on weekends or during holidays. They can thus manage everything remotely, the heat pump, filtration, water quality … And that allows us also to be able to intervene easily in the event of a problem “ Saul Carvalho explains.

Completely redesigned, the terrace offers a comfortable space, dedicated to relaxation and contemplation, where, again, the smallest details have been taken care of. Near the swimming pool, a large bench allows you to admire the landscape thanks to an unobstructed view of the horizon. So as not to obstruct the gaze, a glass railing discreetly secures the space, and the terrace, subtly planted with trees, has a shaded area at certain times of the day.

The sloping ground was perfect for creating an overflow basin. As if suspended in the landscape, the swimming pool almost gives the impression of being able to dive into the lake and offers swimmers a panoramic view of the horizon.

The pool water is collected in a buffer tank, installed below the pool. Saul Carvalho has also hidden the technical elements (power supply, filtration system, heat pump, etc.) under the terrace for a more aesthetic appearance.

Associated with wood, stone from the Alps, used on the edge of the basin, and which can also be found higher up on the terrace at staircase level, brings a slightly more mineral touch to the exterior. This local material was chosen for its robustness, but also for its elegance, which blends perfectly into the decor. “On this type of very high-end project, we are not in a spirit of flashy luxury. Above all, we try to ensure that the realization fits perfectly into the environment” assures Saul Carvalho.

“It’s the little extra comfort!” comments the pool specialist. In addition to the swimming pool, the terrace also has a spa, which enjoys the same panoramic view.

Designed to be able to enjoy it during the day, but also to prolong the pleasure during the long summer evenings, the exterior has been subtly highlighted. Careful lighting thus emphasizes the terrace and the swimming pool, and makes you want to linger outside once the sun has gone down.
