Wood

The value of its insulation depends on the type of wood as well as its thickness. In a general way, its U value is between 0.8 and 0.63 W / m²K, which makes it a particularly efficient and insulating material. You can also opt for composite, but the cost is a bit higher than that of wood.
PVC
PVC, a slightly cheaper material, also has a good level of insulation. Besides, his U-value is between 1.2 and 0.78 W / m²K. Regarding windows, its insulating properties may change depending on the amount of air voids in the profiles. Indeed, it is these air spaces inside the frame that will act as insulation. Nevertheless, care must be taken to choose the best possible quality. In fact, low-end PVC has little resistance to climatic hazards.
Aluminum
Very elegant and design aluminum comes in 3rd position with a very nice score also since her U-value is 1.5 – 0.8 W / m²K. As with PVC, it is the amount of air space that will determine the level of insulation in windows. Aluminum doors or windows will provide a definitely modern look to your interior!
Stainless steel
