What is Scrapbooking? It is a practice of showcasing one’s photos in an album (or on the medium of your choice) by decorating the pages in a specific theme using paper, embellishments and other techniques and materials. 1) The paper
In scrapbooking, choosing the right paper is important. You may find small blocks (15x15cm) or large blocks (30x30cm) of paper. In general, they have thematic very specific. If you want highlight your photo, be careful that your paper associates correctly with it! By way of illustration, if you have a photo of yourself at the sea, you will have a blue cast. Then choose a paper that will go well with this color (especially not a paper with red flowers for example). In addition, the superposition of different papers is something possible.
2) stamps and inks
You can find several types of tampons: drink or in silicone. Silicone ones need to be installed on a acrylic block to have a good grip. You can also use wheel stamps (also called date stamps)
About the inks, you will also find them in all colors and sizes. Is your tampon big enough? Don’t panic, you don’t have to buy a huge inkpad! You can run your ink pad over the entire pad in several times.
3) Embellishments
The embellishments are really indispensable ! There are different materials: wood, paper, felt, leather, metal, etc. They will allowdress up your page and create a specific theme. For example, if you are making a scrapbook about your seaside vacation, opt for sea-themed paper embellishments (with dolphins, killer whales, seaweed…). If you are making an album in the industrial style, then opt for embellishments made of metal, like cogs. You can of course mix the materials!
4) The punches
There are all kinds of them: mini, medium and large. It will all depend on the size of cutout you desire. You will also find border punches, if for example you want to prevent your sheet from being straight, as well as corner punches. You will be able to cut different shapes in the paper of your choice!
