To revisit this millstone house and give it a more contemporary touch without distorting it, a veranda, designed as a real extension, has created a pleasant opening onto the garden, as well as an additional bright room.

After a first phase of renovation which made it possible to refresh the interior, this pretty millstone house, typical of the Parisian suburbs, was offered one more room thanks to an elegant veranda thought of as a real extension. Its owners wanted to be able to enjoy a opening onto the garden, but as the family grew, they also needed a little more space. They entrusted their project to Aurélie Taravella, founder of the Vieni Qua studio, who knew how to bring it to life and enhance the house.

“The owners wanted greenery and direct access to the garden” confirms the interior designer. “The objective was also to bring in as much light so that the middle room, which was going to be deprived of a window, remains bright and pleasant “. Another parameter to take into account: the vis-à-vis. Aurélie Taravella has indeed had to ensure to preserve the house and its occupants from prying eyes. Installed on the main facade, an aluminum veranda largely open on the garden brings a little contemporary touch to the house. A warm wooden terrace has also been set up below. The exterior of the house has thus gained in personality, and the interior in comfort. The new living room benefits in all seasons of an extraordinary light which is widely diffused in the other rooms. Visit in pictures.
